Grace Thieme is the writer, singer, editor and (wannabe) photographer behind everything at the aptly named GraceThieme.com. She is currently writing to you in third person and feeling weird about it. Besides working on this site, Grace is also the writer and editor at TheCommonThieme.com, where she occasionally writes about politics, the state and national legislature, and international events.
Now to the fun stuff: Here’s what you don’t need to know, but might want to know, about Grace:
- She is originally from Medford, Oregon
- She now lives in San Francisco, California
- She has a BA in “Hispanic and Latin American Languages and Literature” (aka Spanish) from Scripps College in Claremont, CA.
- In college, she was a competitive Ballroom dancer, and was the president of the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company.
- When she graduated she worked for an immigration attorney for a year, and then substitute taught middle school for a year, and now works in Higher Education Administration.
- She has been singing since she could talk, and loves to perform.
- She has Marcus Gunn Jaw Winking Syndrome, which is why her eye “does the thing” sometimes when she’s singing.
- In high school and college she sang the national anthem for every home sporting event.
- Relatedly, she is a big supporter of people kneeling for the anthem, because #blacklivesmatter
- Her big dreams include performing at the Grammy’s and getting interviewed by Stephen Colbert.
Abandoning third person because it’s too weird… This site has been a dream of mine for a long time, and watching it come to fruition has been marvelously FUN. Please do not hesitate to share my work with wild abandon (and also with credit, please!). Likewise, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me either through my email gracethieme@gmail.com or through any of my various social medias (listed belowww).
Thank you so much for being here
